DANCE TALES STORY BALLET DVD 2 features three stories, THE OWL & THE PUSSYCAT BY LEWIS CARROLL, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD by Perault, and the perfect Christmas gift,THE LITTLE MATCHGIRL by HANS ANDERSEN.

 

Originally produced for the theatre these ballets for children and parents proved so popular with school holiday audiences that producer Janette Heffernan translated her highly original concept for the video market.

Dance Tales Story Ballets are the perfect introduction to the delights of classical ballet, classical music and fairy tales and there is no chance of being lost in the story for the narrator is there to keep you in the picture.

Janette Heffernan producer, has a delightful sense of the ridiculous - animated tea bags and rhythmic gym loving green peas seem perfectly at home in her productions.

 

The musical director Carl Doye is well known for his Music by Candle Light CD which featured on the Oprah Show as one of her 'favorite things'and means each accompaniment is appropriate and the best for each occasion.

Philip Chatfield who choreographed The Princess and the Pea was a Principal Soloist with The Royal Ballet, Covent Garden. Russell Kerr who choreographed The Walrus & The Carpenter is one of the foremost choreographers for The Royal New Zealand Ballet one several of whose dancers appear in the series.

 

First shown on TVNZ & BBC the program was a finalist for Best Edited Program at the LA Monitor Awards.
